Episode 1
“You got a what?!” Tails exclaimed. Nicky slammed the sheet down on the table. He pointed at the top of the page where in capital letters the title read DETENTION. Tails gaped at the sight of it. He was Nicky’s best friend but he knew Nicky wasn’t known to get into trouble like this. His friend was known for failing classes yes but not for this. “How?” Tails looked up at his friend who leaned on the table. “What happened?” He sighed, he didn’t explaining things especially during lunch period but Tails liked to be informed. “It was that jerk Brian. He started it.” “Great, then this means we have to cancell our group meeting this afternoon huh?” Tails realized. “No! No we don’t.” Nicky told him. “We can go on our exploration today even if I still have to go to detention. I’ll be out in an hour so we can still have some hours before dusk.” “You sure?” Tails inquired. “Yeah, don’t worry.” Nicky assured him. “I’m not going to disappoint Anna this time.” Tails nodded, he hoped his friend was right about this. His little sister Anna had just turned 6 that day and Nicky really wanted to do somerthing special for her. He had just the perfect gift and it was one of her favorite games. ~~~ “Nii-sama, this isn’t the way to our house…” Annabelle noticed when she and her brother were walking home that day. Usually they took the straight path down the main shops but this time her brother was leading in the opposite direction into the forest. “Shitte imasu(I know).” Nicky replied. “We’re not going to our house though.” “Eh?!?!” Anna was confused. “Where are we going?” “Konnichiwa Anna!!” She heard two girls call out to her. She turned towards the voices and saw her friends waving to her. “Jessie! Amy! Tails!” “o tanjoubi omedeto(Happy Birthday)!!” They cheered out to her. Anna smiled. She’d never thought her brother could do such a thing for her. He got Jessie to show up. Jessie was human unlike all of them and she lived outside of their village because in Boulevard anthros never trusted humans. Amy Rose was also a nice friend of hers and lived not far from their own house. Tails was Nicky’s best friend but that didn’t mean Anna wasn’t friends with the smart fox. “Arigatou minna!”she thanked them. “Why are we all here though?” “Your brother didn’t tell you yet?” Jessie asked. Anna shook her head. “It’s your birthday gift Anna!! We’re going on a treasure hunt!!” Amy exclaimed. She squealed. “Yay!!” Treasure hunting was her favorite game as a child and she still enjoyed to play it with her friends. It had started with her and her brother but the others gradually joined in too. The game was one of their pasttime favorites. “So where’s our location?” Anna asked excited for it to start. “Right here.” Tails outstretched his arms. “The field is Boulevard forest so let’s get started.” They all agreed. So the game started. There were no rules to it either. The object of this game was to find ‘treasure’ and that was pretty much your only guideline. It wasn’t really treasure that you would find though. What you had to do was see what were the most valuable objects you could find and bring them back to gathering spot. The member with the most would be declared the official winner. They went their seperate ways and began searching. Nicky wandered alone but something seemed to navigate him through the forest. It was a strange feeling how when he stepped down a certain path he’d get this feeling he was going the wrong way and then when he turned around it felt like he was going the right way. Whatever was guiding him he followed it and came to a stop at a large green hedge. He stared at it and began to wonder why he came this way in the first place. He shrugged and decided to go back but when he turned around he got that strange feeling again that told him he was going the wrong way. “What in the world?!” he muttered frustrated but he turned back around and faced the hedge once again. “What am I suppose to do…” Suddenly a green piece of glass caught his eye. He saw it sticking out from the hedge and bent down to grab it. He gave it a tug but it stayed put. “It’s stuck!” He pulled on it and the object came tumbling out and landed at his feet. “Aaah!” he exclaimed, frightened at first but when he saw it he found it was a mere jewel. He picked it up and saw it gave off a green radiation of light. “An emerald?” “Nii-sama!!”Anna came running out from the trees behind. “There you are! You’re late for the final judgement gathering!!” “The hunt is over already?” he didn’t notice how much time he had lost walking over here. “Yeeess!!!” Anna tugged at his arm. “Did you find your treasure?” He nodded. Anna pulled him. “Then come on!!!” His sister guided him down the path back to a clearing in the forest where the others waited. They all beamed at the sight of their return. “Finally!” Jessie sighed relieved. “You took forever!!” “For a second I thought Nicky got lost.” Amy admitted. “I kinda did…” Nicky murmmered. “So what did you find?” Tails questioned his friend. “Hope its something good you took so long to find it.” Jessie said. Nicky showed them the green diamond. “I think it’s an emerald.” They all gasped. Usually on treasure hunts like these no one had found an actual jewel. “How did you find it?!” Amy asked. “The back hedges.” He told her. “I just happened to see it.” “That can’t be possible!!” Tails grabbed the object out of his hand. “Emeralds aren’t just found lying around like that!” “It must belong to someone.” Anna concluded. “We should turn it in to the town center.” “Hand it over brats! If you don’t want it I will take it!” A voice sounded like an echo through the air as if the person was speaking through a microphone of some sort. It startled the group and they froze in their tracks. They didn’t know someone had followed them into the forest and they sure couldn’t tell if they were in trouble for tresspassing. Slowly, they turned around and came face-to-face with something they didn’t expect. They all were shocked. A giant metal robot stood before them and inside of it sat a chubby man. His eyes were covered with goggles and he had a bushy mustache which seemed to be the only hair visible on his face. The man was dressed in a suit of red and he wore a grin on his face. No one recognized him but something about his appearance and commanding voice told the gang that he wasn’t a friendly person. “Who-Who are you?!” Jessie was the first to gather the courage to speak and ask the man a question. “I am only the most brilliant scientist in the universe!!” he replied. “I am here on Mobius for a reason! I am the one and only Doctor Eggman!!!” “Eggman!” Jessie laughed. “Who calls themselves that?” Nicky would’ve backed up Jessie on that joke but the name had caught his ears. He would’ve recognized it anywhere. That man, that name, they were all the cause of his troubles. He recalled his family and his past. Eggman had tried to dominate the world and in dong that he had ruined him… The man sitting in that robot, that man was here in his presence and the thought of it caused mixed emotions. He couldn’t believe it. “Eggman…” |
Episode 2
“YOU’RE EGGMAN?!” Nicky’s feelings were expressed in a yell of rage. Everyone was shocked by the tone of his voice. They didn’t know Nicky had known him before, all except for Annabelle of course.
“Why of course you little runt, don’t you know a genius when you see one?” Eggman asked rudely. He was a man proud of his title. Nicky growled, “You’re the one that destroyed cities of Mobius! You’re the one that caused everyone suffering! AND YOU’RE THE ONE THAT WRECKED MY LIFE!!!”
“What does that matter to me anyway, I’m just here to prove my greatness and conquer this useless planet to turn it into something spectacular!!” Eggman laughed.
Nicky gathered his courage to walk foward and stand in front of Eggman and his robot machinery. Normally, he wouldn’t do something so risky but coming head on with this man meant something to him and he couldn’t help standing up for his family. “No! Your time is up! Leave now!” he barked at the man.
Eggman chuckled, “My time?! Ha! I think you mean yours!!” Before anyone knew it, Eggman fired a green laser beam directly at Nicky. He hadn’t seen it coming and took a direct hit.
It knocked him into the bushes tumbling into the covered forest. He moaned from the solid impact and tried to get up but found he couldn’t. His vision was blurred but he could hear the laughter of Eggman from the distince. He couldn’t save his friends now…they were going to be hurt and once again he’d lose everything the same way he did before.
He couldn’t help being mad. It was something that over took a person at these dark moments but he tried to control his emotions and think. The anger kept fighting though and he found that no matter what he couldn’t stop it. Whatever it was that was trying to fight insideof him he gave in and let it take control. He had no other option…
“Final warning brats. Give the emerald and I’ll spare the rest of you.” Eggman tried to compromise with the others that stood a great distance in fear away from him.
Jessie was inspired by Nicky’s independance and stood up for the others of the group. “No! You heard our friend! We’ll never let you have this emerald no matter how much you ask!!”
“Haha, then I’ll just have to force you to!” Eggman laughed at their ridiculous behavior and started up one of his laser cannons. They each clung onto each other–even if they tried to run they knew it wouldn’t work.
“Leave them alone!” they heard an unfamiliar voice call out from the distance. A teenage blue hedgehog stepped out from the forest trees. He had a fierce look in his eyes that seemed to stare at the villan with great hatred. “Give me your best shot.” he sneered.
Eggman’s eyes narrowed. He didn’t know what this blue hedgehog thought he was but he attacked anyway figuring he’d get through him easily. His robot arm lunged for his opponent but the hedgehog jumped fast enough to dodge it. Eggman threw the robot’s fist faster and even that failed to hit him. “A fast one aren’t you? Well no matter, I know you’re not quick enough to dodge all my weapons!”
He activated a spinning laser that fired in all directions and its beams created a smoky mist within its range. The others watched in shock trying to get a glimpse to see if their heroic savior had survived. When the smoke cleared and the lasers had stopped firing sure enough the teen hedgehog was standing right in front of Eggman’s machine.
“That’s it? And you call yourself a genius…” the blue hedgehog smirked.
Eggman was outraged by that. No one had dared to critize his title. He was in such a rage he began chasing the boy with his mega-robot. The hedgehog ran pretty fast at first but gradually Eggman was catching up to his speed. He had to think of something to get away from the robot and fast. Then they came up to a hill and at the last moment the teen jumped out of the way causing the robot (and Eggman) to go tumbling down uncontrollably into the deep pit.
Satisfied, the blue hedgehog stood at thetop watching it fall,
“T-Thanks for saving us.” Tails said amazed by the preformance.
“No problem. I owe it to you guys. Hey, if this battle was so easy I hope next time he actually puts up a better fight.” The teenager commented.
“What do you mean by you owe it to us?” Anna asked, a bit suspicious. “We’ve never met you before…”
“I gotta go! Keep that emerald safe!” the hedgehog waved and ran off without answering her question.
“Wait!” Jessie cried but he had left them already.
“Come on!” Amy urged her friends. “We’ve got to find Nicky!!”

He heard birds chirping, the sun glared, and instantly he sat up. “What?” Nicky rubbed his head as he sat up. Eggman must’ve got him good, he had been knocked unconsious.
“Nicky!!” he heard his name being called. “Nicky!!”
His eyes snapped open as he remembered his friends and what had happened. How long had he been out?! “Wait for me guys!” he dashed in the direction of the voices. “I’m coming!”
He tore through the brush to see his friends standing awkwardly in the middle of the forest unharmed. He felt embarrassed. “Uhm, so you guys are okay?” he sweatdropped.
“Duh!” Jessie greeted him. “You missed the whole thing!!”
“Huh?” Nicky was confused. “What happened?”
Amy clapped her hands. “It was so heroic! One minute we were in danger and the next it was vice-versa!”
“It was incredible Nicky! A blue hedgehog, about the age of fifteen came out of nowhere and saved us!!” Tails told him excited.
“He didn’t give us his name though.” Anna remembered. “Just went off mysteriously.”
“Really?!” Nicky was suprised. “That’s so cool! I can’t believe I missed it…”
“Maybe he’ll show up again.” Jessie suggested.
“I’m positive. “Amy put her hands on her hips.
“For now, let’s get out of here.”Tails told them. “We don’t want to see Eggman return.”
“Right!” They all nodded and took off.

Episode 3
“Neh, Nii-sama, do you think we can go treasure hunting again?” Anna questioned her brother, three days after their encounter with Eggman. They were walking home after-school as usual.
”Well I don’t know Anna.” Nicky told her recalling the memory. “Last time we found a Real gem and we got into trouble. It’d be better of we take a break from it for a while.”
”Nii-sama that sounds nothing like you!” Anna protested. “You’ve always agreed to a game since I was little and never opposed it once!”
”Anna…” he twitched. The truth was he did want to play again and find another one of those emeralds but he was just too afraid they’d come across Eggman. He never wanted to risk losing his friends or Anna again.
”You know you want too!!” Anna sang in her sing-song voice. “Anna…” he twitched again beginning to feel the pressure. “Okay Anna!Let’s go treasure hunting!” he blurted before he could stop himself.
”Yay!!” his sister cheered. “Come on Nii-sama! Let’s go get the others to join us!”

A while later, they’d rounded up all their friends and met up in a destroyed city just outside of town. Eggman had obviously been here, he’d destroyed it to bits. That made Nicky feel a little bit easy. If Eggman had already rid himself of one place he wouldn’t come back right?
”This is the spot Nii-sama assigned for today!!” Anna announced proudly.
”It sure is interesting.” Jessie commented. “That’s why you picked the site huh Nicky?”
”Yeah I guess you could say that.” he replied not wanting to tell them the real reason, that he chosed it to keep everyone safe. “It also bothers me…” he whispered so they couldn’t hear. By the looks of this place it might as well be a reflection of his old village Mirasol. If this is what it looked like when Eggman invaded an area like this he couldn’t image what he’d do when he got his hand on the entire planet. Mobius would be destroyed completely…
”Hey Tails, did you bring the emerald Nicky found before?” Amy asked him.
”Of course!” he pulled the shiny green object out for them to see. It’s pretty raidiance seemed to light up the group. Whoosh! The gem floated out of Tails’ hand and transported itself into Nicky’s. Everyone was shocked by this.
”Did that gem just–fly?” Jessie asked bewildered.
”Nii-sama, how did you…?” Anna’s sentence drifted off. She was too shocked to speak.
”Neh, Anna I think it was just the wind.” Nicky lied, not wanting to draw any attention to himself. All this weirdness in one week was to much for him and he certainly didn’t want to take center stage.
”Well whatever it was let’s continue!!” Amy brought their attention back. “We’ve got to find another one of those gems!!”
“Alright! I call this mission to order!” Anna slammed her fist in her hand.
“GO!”
So just like that, the team split up in different directions. They came across each other once in a while but continued their deep search for treasure. They all met up in the town’s plaza a long time later.
”Did you find anything?” Amy asked her group anxious to see what everyone had found.
”I found a penny.” Jessie pointed to the dirty coin in her hand.
”A few scraps of ancient paper.” Tails showed them the yellow crinkled scroll in his hand.
”A white bracelet.” Amy hung her arm out. She’d put it on proud of her treasure and its sparkly appearence. She sighed, “It’s not as much as I expected…”
”Where’s Nicky?” Tails wondered. “He has the emerald.” Jessie ignored that. “I just hope he found something better than all of us.”
An evil laugh arose from the back. Their hairs stood on end. They knew that laugh already. They’d heard it three days ago and it hadn’t slipped from their memory at all. ”It’s a shame!” the voice boomed.
The kids turned to see Eggman laughing in his small floating gray craft. “You kids are so pathetic, you miss the simplest detail!!” A claw-extension emerged from his vehicle and grabbed the white emerald that lay at Jessie’s feet. He claimed it at the top of his vehicle. “Mwahaha! This is now mine!!!”
Across town, Nicky had witnessed the entire thing. He was scared at shocked at first but slowly the rage had begun to emerge once again. He shook it off and focused on listening.
”Now where’s that other emerald? You owe me that too!!” Eggman demanded the other green emerald he seeked. The one Nicky now had with him at the moment.
’Owe?!’ Nicky snapped inside clenching his fists. His deep anger had re-emerged again and there was nothing to hold it down anymore. He felt it fill him up again poisioning his mind, was it really anger? Suddenly he felt a strange feeling he didn’t recognize. ‘What’s going on?!’ he thought alarmed.
”Hand the emerald over!!” Eggman ordered once more. “Or else I’ll fire.” he threatned.
”What’s that I hear?” A voice came from a building to the side. “Demanding orders again?” The group turned to see the teenage hedgehog they’d met before from the woods standing tall on top of the structure. “It’s him!” Amy exclaimed happily.
”Heh, looking for this?” he smirked, holding up the green emerald they’d given to Nicky. Anna gasped. “Hey! He stole it from Nii-sama!!” she cried a bit upset.
”Anna, let him use it for now. I’m sure Nicky lended it to him.” Jessie held her down with her hands on her shoulders. She didn’t want Anna to make a scene.
”You annoying hedgehog!” Eggman sneered. “Haven’t you had enough fun?!” Eggman fired his laser built-in gun. “Watch out!” Tails warned the teen.
WHOOSH! The blue hedgehog made a daring jump off the building and landed right in front of Eggman. He was ontop of his craft and didn’t seem to see the danger in doing such a quick move. “I’ll be taking this!” the blue hedgehog snatched the whit emerald out of the fat man hands. “Hey you!” Eggman barked furious.
”Sayonara!” he soluted. With that the hedgehog dug his hand into the control system and pulled out the wires. The circut was ruined now and Eggman had no way of fixing it at the moment.
”You little!” Eggman shouted at his enemy as he jumped off the pod, leaving the genius scientist to struggle as the jacked vehicle dragged him away into the sky. The hedgehog grinned at his accomplishment from the top of the building, watching the villan yell and throw a fit as he floated into the gray sky.
”Hey uhmm–” Tails searched for words as he called out to the hero. “Oh right! Almost forgot!” The teenage hedgehog turned his attention to the crowd that waited below and jumped off the building. He landed in one piece before them without a scratch or any sign of injury.
”Wow…” Amy was amazed by his enterance.
”Here..” He handed emeralds back to Tails and Amy. “A momento, but of course I’ll be remembered.”
”Just, who are you?” Anna asked the teen. “The name’s Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog.” he introduced himself for the first time. “See you guys later! I’m sure we’ll meet again!” He ran up a building and jumped off from the top.
”Sonic huh?” Jessie repeated his name as she watched him leave. “He’s incredible…” Tails added.

”WAAH!” Nicky cried as he held on for dear-life, clinging onto one of the few lamposts that were let standing in the ruins. “How did I get up here?!” he yelled terrified to look down.
”Nicky!” Amy shouted horrified once she saw him.
”Nii-sama, how did you get up there?!” Anna called from below. “I don’t know!!! I just found myself here!!!” he told them truthfully wishing he could get off.
”Hang on Nicky!! I’m coming!!” Tails called out to his bud. He twisted his two tails as they began moving in a propeller motion. This levitated the young fox off the ground and he began flying up towards his friend. The girls watched as Tails successfully grabbed a hold of Nicky and unattached him from the lampost. He brought him down to safety and Tails lowered himself as well.
”Nicky! You’re gonna get yourself killed!” Jessie lectured him. “I told you I didn’t do it!!” the young boy protested. “I don’t know how I got up there!!”
”Did you see him though?” Amy asked him.
”See who?” Nicky inquired. “Sonic of course!!” Amy cried. “He came to save us again!”
”Are you talking about that blue hedgehog?” he guessed. “Not “blue hedgehog” Sonic THE hedgehog!” Amy corrected him. “He has a name too Parke!”
”Yeah yeah but whoever he is I didn’t get a chance to see him.” Nicky told her. It was true, he had no idea how Sonic looked like or what he did that was so heroic to save his friends.
”Eh?! Where were you when that happened Nii-sama?” Anita wondered. “I thought for sure you’d met him, he had your green emerald.”
”He did?!” Nicky outbursted. He knew he’d never let a stranger take that possession away from him. He thought he had gaurded it well. He didn’t remember Sonic taking it or losing it at all. “Yeah.” they all nodded.
Nicky was puzzled. Now that he thought about it, after seeing Eggman– his memory was completely blank. Maybe he lost consciousness again? But then how in the world did he end up dangling, helplessly from a lamp-post?! ‘Maybe Eggman put me there.’ he reasoned.
He didn’t want to worry his friends about his confusion and memory-lapses so he lied, “Maybe I did speak to him. Now that I think of it, I think I’m getting a picure but it’s all fuzzy. I can’t remember so clearly..”
”Oh that’s no fair!! You got to meet Sonic!!” Amy wailed. “Relax Amy he said “maybe”.” Tails reminded her.
’Nii-sama is lying.’ Anita thought. ‘I can tell…he’s hiding something. No he would never hide anything from me. Maybe he just doen’t understand what’s going on either. He’s just preventing us from worry.’
”Neh, now that we’ve found our gem, how about we go to the local bakery for a reward?” Jessie suggested. “I think my aunt will let us snack for free today!”
”That’s great Jessie!” Tails agreed. Amy nodded.
”Mhmm, Anita, Nicky what do you two think?” Jessie asked. Nicky shrugged Anita gave a thumbs up. “Alright let’s go!”
”Well I don’t know Anna.” Nicky told her recalling the memory. “Last time we found a Real gem and we got into trouble. It’d be better of we take a break from it for a while.”
”Nii-sama that sounds nothing like you!” Anna protested. “You’ve always agreed to a game since I was little and never opposed it once!”
”Anna…” he twitched. The truth was he did want to play again and find another one of those emeralds but he was just too afraid they’d come across Eggman. He never wanted to risk losing his friends or Anna again.
”You know you want too!!” Anna sang in her sing-song voice. “Anna…” he twitched again beginning to feel the pressure. “Okay Anna!Let’s go treasure hunting!” he blurted before he could stop himself.
”Yay!!” his sister cheered. “Come on Nii-sama! Let’s go get the others to join us!”

A while later, they’d rounded up all their friends and met up in a destroyed city just outside of town. Eggman had obviously been here, he’d destroyed it to bits. That made Nicky feel a little bit easy. If Eggman had already rid himself of one place he wouldn’t come back right?
”This is the spot Nii-sama assigned for today!!” Anna announced proudly.
”It sure is interesting.” Jessie commented. “That’s why you picked the site huh Nicky?”
”Yeah I guess you could say that.” he replied not wanting to tell them the real reason, that he chosed it to keep everyone safe. “It also bothers me…” he whispered so they couldn’t hear. By the looks of this place it might as well be a reflection of his old village Mirasol. If this is what it looked like when Eggman invaded an area like this he couldn’t image what he’d do when he got his hand on the entire planet. Mobius would be destroyed completely…
”Hey Tails, did you bring the emerald Nicky found before?” Amy asked him.
”Of course!” he pulled the shiny green object out for them to see. It’s pretty raidiance seemed to light up the group. Whoosh! The gem floated out of Tails’ hand and transported itself into Nicky’s. Everyone was shocked by this.
”Did that gem just–fly?” Jessie asked bewildered.
”Nii-sama, how did you…?” Anna’s sentence drifted off. She was too shocked to speak.
”Neh, Anna I think it was just the wind.” Nicky lied, not wanting to draw any attention to himself. All this weirdness in one week was to much for him and he certainly didn’t want to take center stage.
”Well whatever it was let’s continue!!” Amy brought their attention back. “We’ve got to find another one of those gems!!”
“Alright! I call this mission to order!” Anna slammed her fist in her hand.
“GO!”
So just like that, the team split up in different directions. They came across each other once in a while but continued their deep search for treasure. They all met up in the town’s plaza a long time later.
”Did you find anything?” Amy asked her group anxious to see what everyone had found.
”I found a penny.” Jessie pointed to the dirty coin in her hand.
”A few scraps of ancient paper.” Tails showed them the yellow crinkled scroll in his hand.
”A white bracelet.” Amy hung her arm out. She’d put it on proud of her treasure and its sparkly appearence. She sighed, “It’s not as much as I expected…”
”Where’s Nicky?” Tails wondered. “He has the emerald.” Jessie ignored that. “I just hope he found something better than all of us.”
An evil laugh arose from the back. Their hairs stood on end. They knew that laugh already. They’d heard it three days ago and it hadn’t slipped from their memory at all. ”It’s a shame!” the voice boomed.
The kids turned to see Eggman laughing in his small floating gray craft. “You kids are so pathetic, you miss the simplest detail!!” A claw-extension emerged from his vehicle and grabbed the white emerald that lay at Jessie’s feet. He claimed it at the top of his vehicle. “Mwahaha! This is now mine!!!”
Across town, Nicky had witnessed the entire thing. He was scared at shocked at first but slowly the rage had begun to emerge once again. He shook it off and focused on listening.
”Now where’s that other emerald? You owe me that too!!” Eggman demanded the other green emerald he seeked. The one Nicky now had with him at the moment.
’Owe?!’ Nicky snapped inside clenching his fists. His deep anger had re-emerged again and there was nothing to hold it down anymore. He felt it fill him up again poisioning his mind, was it really anger? Suddenly he felt a strange feeling he didn’t recognize. ‘What’s going on?!’ he thought alarmed.
”Hand the emerald over!!” Eggman ordered once more. “Or else I’ll fire.” he threatned.
”What’s that I hear?” A voice came from a building to the side. “Demanding orders again?” The group turned to see the teenage hedgehog they’d met before from the woods standing tall on top of the structure. “It’s him!” Amy exclaimed happily.
”Heh, looking for this?” he smirked, holding up the green emerald they’d given to Nicky. Anna gasped. “Hey! He stole it from Nii-sama!!” she cried a bit upset.
”Anna, let him use it for now. I’m sure Nicky lended it to him.” Jessie held her down with her hands on her shoulders. She didn’t want Anna to make a scene.
”You annoying hedgehog!” Eggman sneered. “Haven’t you had enough fun?!” Eggman fired his laser built-in gun. “Watch out!” Tails warned the teen.
WHOOSH! The blue hedgehog made a daring jump off the building and landed right in front of Eggman. He was ontop of his craft and didn’t seem to see the danger in doing such a quick move. “I’ll be taking this!” the blue hedgehog snatched the whit emerald out of the fat man hands. “Hey you!” Eggman barked furious.
”Sayonara!” he soluted. With that the hedgehog dug his hand into the control system and pulled out the wires. The circut was ruined now and Eggman had no way of fixing it at the moment.
”You little!” Eggman shouted at his enemy as he jumped off the pod, leaving the genius scientist to struggle as the jacked vehicle dragged him away into the sky. The hedgehog grinned at his accomplishment from the top of the building, watching the villan yell and throw a fit as he floated into the gray sky.
”Hey uhmm–” Tails searched for words as he called out to the hero. “Oh right! Almost forgot!” The teenage hedgehog turned his attention to the crowd that waited below and jumped off the building. He landed in one piece before them without a scratch or any sign of injury.
”Wow…” Amy was amazed by his enterance.
”Here..” He handed emeralds back to Tails and Amy. “A momento, but of course I’ll be remembered.”
”Just, who are you?” Anna asked the teen. “The name’s Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog.” he introduced himself for the first time. “See you guys later! I’m sure we’ll meet again!” He ran up a building and jumped off from the top.
”Sonic huh?” Jessie repeated his name as she watched him leave. “He’s incredible…” Tails added.

”WAAH!” Nicky cried as he held on for dear-life, clinging onto one of the few lamposts that were let standing in the ruins. “How did I get up here?!” he yelled terrified to look down.
”Nicky!” Amy shouted horrified once she saw him.
”Nii-sama, how did you get up there?!” Anna called from below. “I don’t know!!! I just found myself here!!!” he told them truthfully wishing he could get off.
”Hang on Nicky!! I’m coming!!” Tails called out to his bud. He twisted his two tails as they began moving in a propeller motion. This levitated the young fox off the ground and he began flying up towards his friend. The girls watched as Tails successfully grabbed a hold of Nicky and unattached him from the lampost. He brought him down to safety and Tails lowered himself as well.
”Nicky! You’re gonna get yourself killed!” Jessie lectured him. “I told you I didn’t do it!!” the young boy protested. “I don’t know how I got up there!!”
”Did you see him though?” Amy asked him.
”See who?” Nicky inquired. “Sonic of course!!” Amy cried. “He came to save us again!”
”Are you talking about that blue hedgehog?” he guessed. “Not “blue hedgehog” Sonic THE hedgehog!” Amy corrected him. “He has a name too Parke!”
”Yeah yeah but whoever he is I didn’t get a chance to see him.” Nicky told her. It was true, he had no idea how Sonic looked like or what he did that was so heroic to save his friends.
”Eh?! Where were you when that happened Nii-sama?” Anita wondered. “I thought for sure you’d met him, he had your green emerald.”
”He did?!” Nicky outbursted. He knew he’d never let a stranger take that possession away from him. He thought he had gaurded it well. He didn’t remember Sonic taking it or losing it at all. “Yeah.” they all nodded.

Episode 4
As part of tradition, the treasure hunting members met again after school in the park. A map was set on the ground and Jessie moved her pointer finger around, with her eyes covered. The others watched in suspense, waiting to see where their next destination would be.
”Okay…” Jessie muttered moving her finger across the paper. “Right here!” She pressed down in the lower right-hand corner of the map and uncovered her eyes. “Eh?!?!” the others exclaimed once they saw the location she had pointed too.
”It’s the Marshfeild zone…” Tails murmmered, reading the red dot’s caption. Amy squeaked, “I heard that’s where Eggman’s base is!”
”Honto(really)?!” Jessie asked in disbelief. She didn’t even know if that was true herself. “Yeah.” Anna nodded. “It’s very deadly. If we go there we’ll have to be real catious.”
”Sounds real exciting!!” Jessie cheered. “Let’s do it!” She wasn’t afraid of facing Eggman anymore. They’d come across him twice anyway and had learned from Sonic who was more couragous than any of them were. Nicky didn’t like this because he’d wanted to stay away from that man as much as possible. He moaned. “Nooo…”
”Nicky you are such a coward! Lighten up!” Amy nudged him. Nicky was annoyed. “How can I when ‘we’re paying a visit’ to old man creepie!”
”Sonic seems to do it all the time and he’s still living.” Jessie got up and folded the map. “Now let’s go and search that zone!”

Nicky ended up being dragged against his own will to go treasure hunting near Eggman’s current base. He hated it but he couldn’t help but feel a little bit of excitement at the thought that they may find another one of those emeralds that day. He thought it was strange at how every time they would appear and that they always seemed to go to the right places to look for them. He wondered how many there were.
”Okay. Nii-sama can hold the white emerald and Tails can hold the green one this time.” Anna instructed handing the two boys the glowing jewels. Tails and Nicky high-fived.
”That’s no fair! I chose the site we’re searching this time! Don’t I get to hold one Anna?” Jessie asked in a pleading tone. Anna held up her hand. “Chotto mate(Wait a minute) Jessie! It’s true you picked the location but this time its different. This time we’re all going to search together.”
”We’re not splitting up?!” Tails and Nicky exploded in unison. They were used to exploring alone in this game. It had been ages since the two could remember the last time they stayed searching in a group. They were like what–eight?
”Are you boys hollow in the head or what?” Amy placed her hands in her hips in a motherly fashion. “If one of us gets caught here by Eggman we are done for!”
”Ohh…” Tails murmmered, realizing what he had forgotten. “I get it, if we split up we’d have more chances of being captured if we were to come across Eggman alone…”
”That’s the smart Tails I know!” Anna smiled proud of his common sense and use of knowledge. Tails blushed.
”Uhh…guys, I think you might want to have a look at this.” Nicky spoke interrupting the subject of the conversation. They turned their full attention to Nicky and saw something they hadn’t noticed before. The emrald in his palm was giving off a faint glow and blinking. “It’s reacting!!” Amy exclaimed with excitement in her voice.
”To what?” Jessie wondered, clueless as usual.
”Hold on, let me see that Nicky.” Tails took it from his friend and examined it. “As far as I can tell, there’s no chemical fluid or reaction going on inside of it. It’s pure jewel–what I can guess it is, is that the gem is acting like a tracking device of some sort.”
”So it’s leading us somewhere!” Anna concluded from Tails’ data. Jessie squeaked. “Cool!”
”But–the direction it’s leading us to…is there.” Nicky pointed to a huge fortress of metal with a gated enterance and an clear yet trashed surrounding. Anna gasped. “Eggman’s base!”
”I’m not afraid of him! The emerald is trying to tell us something and I know it’s something important” Amy stood tall and determined. Jessie nodded in agreement. “Yeah.” Tails and Anna shrugged at each other but agreed.
”Nicky?” Amy poked him. “Do you agree?”
Nicky looked down at the emerald in his hands and then at his friends. They had changed now since the past two events seemed to have inspired them and given some sort of bravery he didn’t have. He felt different though and very much left behind but since no one was backing off he decided to join them fearing he’d be teased about it if he didn’t.
”Sure!” Nicky forced a smile. “Sounds like fun!”

”It’s so claustrophobic!” Anna whined as she crawled through the metal, annoyed by the lack of space. Tails encouraged her. “Come on Anna, we made this decision together!” She sighed and dragged herself along. “I’ll try…”
Shortly after detecting the emerald’s direction, they’d found an enterance through the back of the gate and snuck in. They’d carefully searched the building and found an enterance in the left side. It was a free passageway and ticket into Eggman’s base without being seen–the air vent. The gang took advantage of that, and crawled in, following the direction of the glowing emerald.
”Stop!” Both Nicky and Tails shouted, halting the entire group. “Shhhh!” Jessie hissed at them. Amy yelled in a loud whisper, “That was loud enough for anyone to hear us!”
”Sorry…” Tails apologized, his fox ears drooping in shame like that of a guilty dog’s. Nicky spoke up. “The detection stops here.”
Anna, Amy, and Jessie all exchanged glances as the two boys crawled over to the nearest air-vent grate(?) to their right. They peered throgh and gasped. “What is it?!” the three girls all asked since they were unable to see.
It was a huge room, with gray-blueish walls and rectangle windows way on top allowing few light in the giant room. Lying in the middle, on a table in the open, was a yellow emerald identical to the ones they had collected so far. What was strange though was that this room was completely empty and nothing but that table occupied the room space.
”Looks suspicous…” Tails murmmered. “No ya think?” Amy replied sarcasticly.
”Obviously, why would Eggman just leave it sitting there ungaurded in the open.” Jessie wondered trying to make sense out of it all. “You’d think for a genius that wanted to conquer the world he wouldn’t be so careless.”
Anna shoved her way through so she could see. “Hmm…well it looks like there are no security cameras or laser beams right Tails?” Tails nodded in agreement. “I don’t see any technology.”
”Okay then let’s go and get it.” Nicky suggested in a hurry. He got bad vibes from being around a place like this and wanted to run out of here as soon as possible. The others seemed to agree with Nicky’s rushed idea anyway. “Alright!”
So they opened the grate of the air vent and finally got some elbow room once they stepped out. The large room felt even bigger once you were standing in it and the empty space around you scared you in a creepy way.
”It’s so unwelcoming and uncozy.” Anna whined looking around. Jessie reminded her. “It’s Eggman’s base Anna, why would he want to be welcoming if he’s going for world domination?”
”Let’s move fast then.” Tails took charge. “The sooner we get out the better.” Amy held up the emerald. “Don’t worry I got it!” she announced proudly. “It wasn’t so hard!”
Beeping and clicking noises suddenly activated. Out of the walls, gates opened and it reavealed many robots that were hidden inside the darkness with red glowing eyes. ZIIP! A chair emerged from a trapdoor in the floor at the far end of the room and rose high into the air with Eggman sitting there likea king at a white control desk. “Hehe, looks like you’re good at treasure hunting kids.” Eggman complimented. “Perhaps you’lll do as my personal emerald hunters!”
”Why you evil-” Anita began.
”I am Evil child!” Eggman cut her off rudely. “You should’ve noticed that before, but of course sometimes I think that term seems too harsh for me. I like to think of myself as the nice kind of evil.”
”You don’t deserve to be called “nice” in any way!” Nicky yelled at him, recalling the evil he had done to his family. He didn’t exactly find that nice. “You don’t deserve to be called genius either! You’re not worthy of such a title!”
”You don’t dare challenge my genius!” he spat angrily and he pressed down a button. Chains appeared from the ground and tied up his wrists and ankles. The others gasped in shock as the floor beneath him rose into the air, like Eggman’s chair, until he was practically compressed by the ceiling. “Nii-sama!!” Anna cried out to her brother whom she could no longer see.
Eggman lowered his seat so that he was hovering a few feet over the rest. “Now if you hand over those emeralds, I’ll make sure not to pancake your friend or…” Robots gathered around them in a circle leaving no empty gap to squeeze through and escape. “…dispose of you with my robots.” he finished with a grin. “Now which’ll it be?”
Jessie gritted her teeth. This villan was willing to do anything to get what he wanted. She remembered how Sonic stood up like it was nothing to battle Eggman but this was a life or death situation. She looked over at Amy, she wan’t willing to give in either. Anita and Tails had a strong look of determination in their eyes. It seemed like they all didn’t want to hand over the emeralds to Eggman this easily.
”No.” Jessie finally spoke. “We will never give you these emeralds!” “Never!” Anna repeated. Amy nodded. “Same as them.” Tails agreed.
”Fine! Your decision!” Eggman lifted his hand to press another button. ZOOM! A fast bluewind blew in-between him and the button, delaying him. “What?!” he shouted in shock.
The blue light smashed into the first robot and collided into the next. It zigg-zagged around the circle of robots, knocking the heavy-metal objects down like plastic bowling pins. Then it came to a stop on top of the last robot. The blur came into focus. “Sonic!” the kids exclaimed in both happiness and shock at the same time. They didn’t know he could do something like that.
”Yo!” he greeted. “Looks like you guys were caught in some trouble.” Amy looked at him in admiration. “My hero…”
”Stupid hedgehog, you should’ve destroyed that robot when you had the chance!” Eggman laughed evilly as he pressed down on the control desk to activate that last machine. The robot didn’t budge and Sonic stayed sitting on top of it. “Nani?!” Eggman pressed again. Frantic *click, click, click* but nothing worked.
Sonic smirked. “You think I was stupid enough not to take out the smart chip?” Sonic held up the gray disk in his hand. “Wrong!”
”You smart aaaaallic!” Eggman pointed a finger at him almost cursing. Sonic flipped the chip in his hands and then crushed it. “Yeah, well, that’s what it comes down to these days.”
”But I have a back up–Sonic.” Eggman grinned remembering. “At the top of that column is an innocent hedgehog boy about to be crushed!” Anna gasped. She’d almost forgot. “Oh no! Sonic you have to save my Nii-sama!”
”Haha! Either hand over the emeralds or that boy’s life is lost!” Eggman laughed in joy of his ‘brilliance’. “Are you talking about Nicholas Parke?” Sonic asked him. Eggman was confused at first but then he made sense that that was probably the kid’s name. “Yeah whatever.”
”He’s safe.” Sonic replied simply. “Huh?” Eggman asked suddenly confused again. Was he hearing right? Sonic couldn’t have seen through his genius work already!!
”You heard me cheap-shot, he’s not there anymore…looks like I’ve won.” Sonic jumpped onto his desk. “You LOSE!” Eggman was shocked. “Nooo! That cannot be possible!!”
”I’m getting bored egg-head, it’s time for some action!!” Sonic took off at top speed, crashing and destroying certain parts of the room. He was tearing down the base! “No! Stop it! This is the main pillar of the base! Without this room’s support my facility will collapse!!” Eggman panicked.
Sonic came to a stop in front of a weakened wall. “Really?! Then that makes this even more fun!” He purposely ran into the wall behind him backwards. “Oooops.” he smirked. The wall crashed to the ground and the room began shaking.
”Damn you Sonic!! You will pay for this!!” Eggman raged as he disappeared back into the ground.
”Minna hurry! Through this hole in the wall!” Sonic instructed leading the others to the exit. They crawled out to the open and ran as fast as far as they could. Not much later had the structure gave way and collapsed to the ground. It became a mass of metal and broken building.
”How deadly…” Jessie remarked as she stared at it, trying to imagine what it would’ve been like if they had been still trapped inside. “Sonic, why are you always here to-” Tails turned around but no one was there. “Sonic? Sonic?”
”He’s gone!!” Amy gasped. He was no where in sight. They weren’t even sure if what had happened had happened anymore because everything had began and ended so quickly. “He left without saying goodbye…” Anna noted as well. This was unlike him to show up and then leave without a proper farewell or maybe that was just part of his character and they had missed that detail.
”Looks like Sonic really improved in power, didn’t he?” Tails recalled the battle scene back inside. It was nothing like the other times they had witnessed. He’d gotten new moves, new speed, and everything. “Yeah, he definetly got a lot faster.” Amy agreed.
”AAAHH!” CRASH! Nicky landed at their feet unexpectedly. “Nicky!” Jessie cried. “You’re alive!” Tails looked up, curious to see where he had come from. “And you fell out of a tree…”
”Sonic rescued you didn’t he?” Amy asked him in a bouncy voice. “He’s so heroic…”
”I don’t know what you’re talking about!!” Nicky exclaimed. “I just found myself on a tree branch this time! That’s all!” Anna was confused. “Nii-sama…Sonic said he saved you.”
”He did?” he asked. He didn’t remember that happening but seeing Anna’s face, he didn’t want to worry her. “I mean, yeah he did. He must’ve saved me after I lost consciousness because I don’t remember seeing him.”
”Nicky you whimp!” Amy punched him. “Stop fainting every time Sonic comes around! You always miss everything!” Nicky switched topics. “But you guys got the emeerald right?” Tails held it up. “Right here!”
Once they ran out of things to say they walked back to their town in silence. Nicky found this a good time to ponder more about the disscussion they had back there at Marshfield Zone. His little sister had said Sonic had saved him from being killed. Funny, he didn’t remember seeing Sonic or meeting him at all. They’d never had any contact since day One. ‘I remember looking at the wall for a few seconds and I heard everyone’s voices. Then-Then–’ he searched his memory but found nothing came after that. Only falling off of that tree was all that came picture clear to him. ‘I was knocked unconscious again? No, that was one too many times…what’s wrong with me?’
Anna looked up at her brother. He seemed to be too deep in thought that he didn’t notice she was looking. She knew something wasn’t right here. ‘Nii-sama…’

Nicky ended up being dragged against his own will to go treasure hunting near Eggman’s current base. He hated it but he couldn’t help but feel a little bit of excitement at the thought that they may find another one of those emeralds that day. He thought it was strange at how every time they would appear and that they always seemed to go to the right places to look for them. He wondered how many there were.
”Okay. Nii-sama can hold the white emerald and Tails can hold the green one this time.” Anna instructed handing the two boys the glowing jewels. Tails and Nicky high-fived.
”That’s no fair! I chose the site we’re searching this time! Don’t I get to hold one Anna?” Jessie asked in a pleading tone. Anna held up her hand. “Chotto mate(Wait a minute) Jessie! It’s true you picked the location but this time its different. This time we’re all going to search together.”
”We’re not splitting up?!” Tails and Nicky exploded in unison. They were used to exploring alone in this game. It had been ages since the two could remember the last time they stayed searching in a group. They were like what–eight?
”Are you boys hollow in the head or what?” Amy placed her hands in her hips in a motherly fashion. “If one of us gets caught here by Eggman we are done for!”
”Ohh…” Tails murmmered, realizing what he had forgotten. “I get it, if we split up we’d have more chances of being captured if we were to come across Eggman alone…”
”That’s the smart Tails I know!” Anna smiled proud of his common sense and use of knowledge. Tails blushed.
”Uhh…guys, I think you might want to have a look at this.” Nicky spoke interrupting the subject of the conversation. They turned their full attention to Nicky and saw something they hadn’t noticed before. The emrald in his palm was giving off a faint glow and blinking. “It’s reacting!!” Amy exclaimed with excitement in her voice.
”To what?” Jessie wondered, clueless as usual.
”Hold on, let me see that Nicky.” Tails took it from his friend and examined it. “As far as I can tell, there’s no chemical fluid or reaction going on inside of it. It’s pure jewel–what I can guess it is, is that the gem is acting like a tracking device of some sort.”
”So it’s leading us somewhere!” Anna concluded from Tails’ data. Jessie squeaked. “Cool!”
”But–the direction it’s leading us to…is there.” Nicky pointed to a huge fortress of metal with a gated enterance and an clear yet trashed surrounding. Anna gasped. “Eggman’s base!”
”I’m not afraid of him! The emerald is trying to tell us something and I know it’s something important” Amy stood tall and determined. Jessie nodded in agreement. “Yeah.” Tails and Anna shrugged at each other but agreed.
”Nicky?” Amy poked him. “Do you agree?”
Nicky looked down at the emerald in his hands and then at his friends. They had changed now since the past two events seemed to have inspired them and given some sort of bravery he didn’t have. He felt different though and very much left behind but since no one was backing off he decided to join them fearing he’d be teased about it if he didn’t.
”Sure!” Nicky forced a smile. “Sounds like fun!”

”It’s so claustrophobic!” Anna whined as she crawled through the metal, annoyed by the lack of space. Tails encouraged her. “Come on Anna, we made this decision together!” She sighed and dragged herself along. “I’ll try…”
Shortly after detecting the emerald’s direction, they’d found an enterance through the back of the gate and snuck in. They’d carefully searched the building and found an enterance in the left side. It was a free passageway and ticket into Eggman’s base without being seen–the air vent. The gang took advantage of that, and crawled in, following the direction of the glowing emerald.
”Stop!” Both Nicky and Tails shouted, halting the entire group. “Shhhh!” Jessie hissed at them. Amy yelled in a loud whisper, “That was loud enough for anyone to hear us!”
”Sorry…” Tails apologized, his fox ears drooping in shame like that of a guilty dog’s. Nicky spoke up. “The detection stops here.”
Anna, Amy, and Jessie all exchanged glances as the two boys crawled over to the nearest air-vent grate(?) to their right. They peered throgh and gasped. “What is it?!” the three girls all asked since they were unable to see.
It was a huge room, with gray-blueish walls and rectangle windows way on top allowing few light in the giant room. Lying in the middle, on a table in the open, was a yellow emerald identical to the ones they had collected so far. What was strange though was that this room was completely empty and nothing but that table occupied the room space.
”Looks suspicous…” Tails murmmered. “No ya think?” Amy replied sarcasticly.
”Obviously, why would Eggman just leave it sitting there ungaurded in the open.” Jessie wondered trying to make sense out of it all. “You’d think for a genius that wanted to conquer the world he wouldn’t be so careless.”
Anna shoved her way through so she could see. “Hmm…well it looks like there are no security cameras or laser beams right Tails?” Tails nodded in agreement. “I don’t see any technology.”
”Okay then let’s go and get it.” Nicky suggested in a hurry. He got bad vibes from being around a place like this and wanted to run out of here as soon as possible. The others seemed to agree with Nicky’s rushed idea anyway. “Alright!”
So they opened the grate of the air vent and finally got some elbow room once they stepped out. The large room felt even bigger once you were standing in it and the empty space around you scared you in a creepy way.
”It’s so unwelcoming and uncozy.” Anna whined looking around. Jessie reminded her. “It’s Eggman’s base Anna, why would he want to be welcoming if he’s going for world domination?”
”Let’s move fast then.” Tails took charge. “The sooner we get out the better.” Amy held up the emerald. “Don’t worry I got it!” she announced proudly. “It wasn’t so hard!”
Beeping and clicking noises suddenly activated. Out of the walls, gates opened and it reavealed many robots that were hidden inside the darkness with red glowing eyes. ZIIP! A chair emerged from a trapdoor in the floor at the far end of the room and rose high into the air with Eggman sitting there likea king at a white control desk. “Hehe, looks like you’re good at treasure hunting kids.” Eggman complimented. “Perhaps you’lll do as my personal emerald hunters!”
”Why you evil-” Anita began.
”I am Evil child!” Eggman cut her off rudely. “You should’ve noticed that before, but of course sometimes I think that term seems too harsh for me. I like to think of myself as the nice kind of evil.”
”You don’t deserve to be called “nice” in any way!” Nicky yelled at him, recalling the evil he had done to his family. He didn’t exactly find that nice. “You don’t deserve to be called genius either! You’re not worthy of such a title!”
”You don’t dare challenge my genius!” he spat angrily and he pressed down a button. Chains appeared from the ground and tied up his wrists and ankles. The others gasped in shock as the floor beneath him rose into the air, like Eggman’s chair, until he was practically compressed by the ceiling. “Nii-sama!!” Anna cried out to her brother whom she could no longer see.
Eggman lowered his seat so that he was hovering a few feet over the rest. “Now if you hand over those emeralds, I’ll make sure not to pancake your friend or…” Robots gathered around them in a circle leaving no empty gap to squeeze through and escape. “…dispose of you with my robots.” he finished with a grin. “Now which’ll it be?”
Jessie gritted her teeth. This villan was willing to do anything to get what he wanted. She remembered how Sonic stood up like it was nothing to battle Eggman but this was a life or death situation. She looked over at Amy, she wan’t willing to give in either. Anita and Tails had a strong look of determination in their eyes. It seemed like they all didn’t want to hand over the emeralds to Eggman this easily.
”No.” Jessie finally spoke. “We will never give you these emeralds!” “Never!” Anna repeated. Amy nodded. “Same as them.” Tails agreed.
”Fine! Your decision!” Eggman lifted his hand to press another button. ZOOM! A fast bluewind blew in-between him and the button, delaying him. “What?!” he shouted in shock.
The blue light smashed into the first robot and collided into the next. It zigg-zagged around the circle of robots, knocking the heavy-metal objects down like plastic bowling pins. Then it came to a stop on top of the last robot. The blur came into focus. “Sonic!” the kids exclaimed in both happiness and shock at the same time. They didn’t know he could do something like that.
”Yo!” he greeted. “Looks like you guys were caught in some trouble.” Amy looked at him in admiration. “My hero…”
”Stupid hedgehog, you should’ve destroyed that robot when you had the chance!” Eggman laughed evilly as he pressed down on the control desk to activate that last machine. The robot didn’t budge and Sonic stayed sitting on top of it. “Nani?!” Eggman pressed again. Frantic *click, click, click* but nothing worked.
Sonic smirked. “You think I was stupid enough not to take out the smart chip?” Sonic held up the gray disk in his hand. “Wrong!”
”You smart aaaaallic!” Eggman pointed a finger at him almost cursing. Sonic flipped the chip in his hands and then crushed it. “Yeah, well, that’s what it comes down to these days.”
”But I have a back up–Sonic.” Eggman grinned remembering. “At the top of that column is an innocent hedgehog boy about to be crushed!” Anna gasped. She’d almost forgot. “Oh no! Sonic you have to save my Nii-sama!”
”Haha! Either hand over the emeralds or that boy’s life is lost!” Eggman laughed in joy of his ‘brilliance’. “Are you talking about Nicholas Parke?” Sonic asked him. Eggman was confused at first but then he made sense that that was probably the kid’s name. “Yeah whatever.”
”He’s safe.” Sonic replied simply. “Huh?” Eggman asked suddenly confused again. Was he hearing right? Sonic couldn’t have seen through his genius work already!!
”You heard me cheap-shot, he’s not there anymore…looks like I’ve won.” Sonic jumpped onto his desk. “You LOSE!” Eggman was shocked. “Nooo! That cannot be possible!!”
”I’m getting bored egg-head, it’s time for some action!!” Sonic took off at top speed, crashing and destroying certain parts of the room. He was tearing down the base! “No! Stop it! This is the main pillar of the base! Without this room’s support my facility will collapse!!” Eggman panicked.
Sonic came to a stop in front of a weakened wall. “Really?! Then that makes this even more fun!” He purposely ran into the wall behind him backwards. “Oooops.” he smirked. The wall crashed to the ground and the room began shaking.
”Damn you Sonic!! You will pay for this!!” Eggman raged as he disappeared back into the ground.
”Minna hurry! Through this hole in the wall!” Sonic instructed leading the others to the exit. They crawled out to the open and ran as fast as far as they could. Not much later had the structure gave way and collapsed to the ground. It became a mass of metal and broken building.
”How deadly…” Jessie remarked as she stared at it, trying to imagine what it would’ve been like if they had been still trapped inside. “Sonic, why are you always here to-” Tails turned around but no one was there. “Sonic? Sonic?”
”He’s gone!!” Amy gasped. He was no where in sight. They weren’t even sure if what had happened had happened anymore because everything had began and ended so quickly. “He left without saying goodbye…” Anna noted as well. This was unlike him to show up and then leave without a proper farewell or maybe that was just part of his character and they had missed that detail.
”Looks like Sonic really improved in power, didn’t he?” Tails recalled the battle scene back inside. It was nothing like the other times they had witnessed. He’d gotten new moves, new speed, and everything. “Yeah, he definetly got a lot faster.” Amy agreed.
”AAAHH!” CRASH! Nicky landed at their feet unexpectedly. “Nicky!” Jessie cried. “You’re alive!” Tails looked up, curious to see where he had come from. “And you fell out of a tree…”
”Sonic rescued you didn’t he?” Amy asked him in a bouncy voice. “He’s so heroic…”
”I don’t know what you’re talking about!!” Nicky exclaimed. “I just found myself on a tree branch this time! That’s all!” Anna was confused. “Nii-sama…Sonic said he saved you.”
”He did?” he asked. He didn’t remember that happening but seeing Anna’s face, he didn’t want to worry her. “I mean, yeah he did. He must’ve saved me after I lost consciousness because I don’t remember seeing him.”
”Nicky you whimp!” Amy punched him. “Stop fainting every time Sonic comes around! You always miss everything!” Nicky switched topics. “But you guys got the emeerald right?” Tails held it up. “Right here!”
Once they ran out of things to say they walked back to their town in silence. Nicky found this a good time to ponder more about the disscussion they had back there at Marshfield Zone. His little sister had said Sonic had saved him from being killed. Funny, he didn’t remember seeing Sonic or meeting him at all. They’d never had any contact since day One. ‘I remember looking at the wall for a few seconds and I heard everyone’s voices. Then-Then–’ he searched his memory but found nothing came after that. Only falling off of that tree was all that came picture clear to him. ‘I was knocked unconscious again? No, that was one too many times…what’s wrong with me?’
Anna looked up at her brother. He seemed to be too deep in thought that he didn’t notice she was looking. She knew something wasn’t right here. ‘Nii-sama…’
